Hon Sylvester Oromoni, advocates for continuous voter registration, in Warri South West Local Government Council.
The council boss, made this call in an interactive session with Corectnaijagist.blogspot.com in warri on Monday 8 September 2025. Hon Oromoni has called on all eligible residents of Warri South West Local Government Council who are 18 years and above, and without a Permanent Voter’s Card (PVC), to take advantage of the ongoing Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise.
According to Oromoni , the online pre-registration exercise has commenced since August 18, 2025, through the official INEC portal, cvr.inecnigeria.org, while in-person registration is scheduled was scheduled to take off August 25, 2025, from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, Mondays to Fridays, at all INEC Local Government Area offices and designated centres across the state.
Honorable Oromoni made it clear that, the categories of persons expected to register for CVR include new voters who have attained the age of 18, individuals seeking replacement for lost or damaged PVCs, voters wishing to transfer their registration to new locations, and those who need to update their personal information such as name or address corrections.
Oromoni emphasized that participation in the voter registration exercise is both a right and a civic responsibility, that gives the individual the legitimate right to choose their preferred candidates for electoral position in the forthcoming general election in 2027. He urged residents to ensure their voices are heard in both national and local government elections.
That credibleaelections begins with voter participation, which includes getting registered on the INEC voters register. I am appealing to those who are yet to register, to do so as soon as possible to make their votes count.
